Instagram Highlights

Instagram Highlights Downloader

Instagram Highlights are the curated Stories that sit on someone's profile, the circles below the bio. Unlike regular Stories, they don't disappear after 24 hours. Creators use them to organize their best content: tutorials, product demos, travel logs, Q&As.

But there's no download button. You can watch Highlights all day, but Instagram gives you no way to save them to your device. SaveThat fixes that. Paste the link and download the clip as an MP4 or image file.

How to Download Instagram Highlights

  1. Open the Instagram profile and tap the Highlight you want. While the clip is playing, tap the three-dot menu (⋯) and select Copy Link.
  2. Paste the link into the box on our Instagram downloader page.
  3. Tap Save it. The file downloads to your device. Video clips save as MP4, photo clips save as images.

What Are Highlights, Exactly?

Highlights are just archived Stories. When someone posts a Story, it lives for 24 hours and then vanishes. But if the creator adds it to a Highlight, it stays on their profile permanently, or until they manually remove it.

Each Highlight is a collection of individual clips. A "Travel" Highlight might have 15 clips from different trips. Each clip is a separate file on Instagram's servers, so you download them one at a time.

This is why Highlights are valuable for saving. They're often the most polished, curated content a creator has: the stuff they specifically chose to keep visible.

Getting the Right Link

The tricky part is getting the link to the specific clip you want, not just the Highlight cover.

On mobile: tap into the Highlight, navigate to the clip you want to save, then tap the three-dot menu and Copy Link. The URL you get points to that specific clip within the Highlight.

On desktop: open the profile, click the Highlight, and navigate to the clip. The URL in your browser's address bar updates with each clip, so copy it directly from the address bar.

If you copy the wrong clip's link, you'll download a different clip than you intended. Make sure the right one is playing before you copy.

Highlights vs. Regular Stories

The download process is identical. Both are Stories under the hood. The only difference is that Highlights don't expire. This means you don't have to rush. A Highlight from two years ago is still downloadable as long as it's still on the profile.

Regular Stories, on the other hand, are a race against the clock. You have 24 hours before the content and the link both stop working. For those, see the Instagram Story downloader.

Works on Every Device

The tool runs in your browser. No app, no extension, no account.

On iPhone, the file saves to your Files app via Safari. On Android, Chrome puts it in your Downloads folder. On desktop, it downloads like any other file.

For video content from Instagram beyond Highlights, the Instagram video downloader handles Reels, regular video posts, and more. If you need photos, there's the Instagram photo downloader.

No Login, No App, Free

No Instagram account required. No daily limits. No premium tier. Just paste the Highlight link and download. The file is clean, with no Instagram branding added.

Common questions

Can I download an entire Highlight at once?
Not as a single file. Each clip in a Highlight is a separate Story, so you download them individually. Copy the link while viewing the specific clip you want.
Do I need to be logged into Instagram?
No. SaveThat works without any Instagram login. As long as the profile is public, you can access their Highlights.
Are Highlights the same as Stories?
Technically, yes. Highlights are just Stories that the creator chose to keep visible on their profile permanently instead of letting them expire after 24 hours. The download process is the same.
What format are downloaded Highlights?
Video Highlights download as MP4 files. Photo-based Highlight clips download as images. You get whatever format the original Story was in.
Can I download Highlights from private accounts?
No. Private account content is only visible to approved followers. SaveThat only works with publicly available content.
Do Highlights expire?
No. Unlike regular Stories, Highlights stay on a profile until the creator manually removes them. You can download them at any time.
