A Reel has the perfect song, a funny voiceover, or an unreleased remix that isn't on Spotify. You want just the audio. Instagram gives you no way to extract it. There's no "save audio" button, no export option, nothing.

How to Extract Audio from Instagram Reels
- Open Instagram and find the Reel with the audio you want. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) and select Copy Link.
- Go to our Instagram downloader and paste the link. Toggle to Audio only mode.
- Tap Save it. The MP3 downloads to your device.
What You Get
An MP3 file of the Reel's complete audio track. This includes everything: the background music, voiceover, sound effects, all mixed together as they play in the Reel.
The quality is around 128kbps, which is what Instagram uses for streaming. It sounds identical to what you hear in the app. The files are tiny. A 30-second clip is under 0.5 MB.
Getting Cleaner Audio
If a Reel has someone talking over a song and you only want the song, the MP3 will include both. There's no way to separate them. The audio is mixed into a single track before Instagram stores it.
To get a cleaner version of a trending sound, tap the audio name at the bottom of the Reel. This opens Instagram's Sound Page, which shows all Reels using that audio. Find one where the creator doesn't talk over it, and extract the audio from that Reel instead.
Using the Audio in Other Apps
Once you have the MP3, you can import it into any app that accepts audio files.
CapCut: Open your project, tap Audio, then Sounds, then the folder icon. Select From device and pick your downloaded MP3.
iMovie: Tap the + button, select Files, navigate to Downloads, and tap the audio file. It imports as a background audio layer.
InShot / VN / KineMaster: Open your audio or music tab, look for Import or Local, and select the MP3 from your Downloads folder.
The MP3 format is universally supported, so any app that handles audio will work.
Audio from Instagram Stories
The same process works for Stories. Copy the Story link, paste it, select Audio only, and download. Keep in mind that Stories expire after 24 hours. Once they're gone, the link dies.
